CDC Encourages In-Person Learning in Schools (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/schools.html).
In an article titled "CDC removes guidance pushing for school reopenings amid COVID pandemic saying ’new scientific information has emerged’" the author provides information regarding in-person learning in schools. The article continues by citing from the CDC the benefits of in-person learning. We at NCA are extremely encouraged by this!

Wednesday, September 30th, we celebrated See You At The Pole. Our NCA Student Council organized and coordinated the event that included representatives from each class praying for different aspects fo our lives.
Starting Monday, Sept. 28 and going through Wednesday, Sept. 30, we will be hosting the PA Farm Bureau Mobile Ag Lab!
The Ag Lab is a mobile agriculture education science lab, complete with all supplies and a certified teacher, travels to a different elementary or middle school in Pennsylvania each week. The lab is designed to target grades K through 8.
Normally, a 40 ft. trailer, provides space for student partners to complete with heating and air conditioning, the mobile lab contains 12 work stations. However, due to the COVID virus, the lessons will be brought to the individual classrooms where cleaning, disinfecting, and cohorting can be done. Each station provides space for 2-3 students to complete hands-on experiments. The lab accommodates up to 25-30 classes per week, by teaching (5-6) 50 minute science classes per day.
The science curriculum taught meets Pennsylvania Department of Education Science & Technology and Environment & Ecology Standards and is endorsed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The children perform hands-on science experiments, each teaching a lesson in agriculture. The experiments performed include equipment and supplies not readily available to classroom teachers and are of a nature that most teachers wouldn't want to tackle in a traditional classroom setting. Each science experiment is designed to emphasize a different aspect of agriculture, including Pennsylvania's primary commodities, the environment, biotechnology, food and fiber, etc…Children work cooperatively to solve a problem as they form a hypothesis, collect data and draw conclusions.
Friday, September 25th is the NCA Ninja Warrior Challenge! This fundraiser will test our student's physical and mental abilities. There are at 8 different obstacles that will challenge kids' balance, speed, agility, coordination, endurance, and strength.
This Friday, September 11, is Patriot Day, a day to remember the victims and heroes of the 9/11 tragedy. As a school, we will meet at the flagpole, briefly recount the events of that day, take a moment of silence in memory of the victims and heroes, and pray for our nation.
Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue attire (e.g., Americana) to show support.
